The Gloversville girls’ volleyball team staved off a comeback bid by Scotia-Glenville to pull out a Foothills Council match 3-2 on Tuesday.

The Huskies won the first two sets, 25-16, 25-12, then pulled out the fifth set 26-24.

Allie Salvione had 10 assists and 11 digs for Gloversville, Zoie Tesi had six blocks and seven kills, Jackie Rattray had 19 digs and Alexis Rocklin had 13 digs and 19 service points.

Sydney Canty added four blocks and 10 digs for the Huskies, and Marisa Dygon had three kills and four digs.

For Scotia, Mia Wood had seven aces, two kills and 20 assists, Keeley Kristel had six kills, 13 digs and six blocks, Jojo Mustico had 10 digs and three aces, Grace Letterman had six kills, six assists and three digs, and Gabriela Harrigan had three aces, six kills and six digs.

In the Suburban Council, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake defeated Columbia, 25-13, 25-15, 25-12, to improve to 4-0 in the SC and 7-1 overall.

Carlie Rzeszotarski had 17 kills and 12 digs to lead the Spartans. Danielle Debonis had 28 assists, and Callie Chevalier added nine kills and eight digs for Burnt Hills.

Columbia (1-1, 3-1) was led by Arricca Sillimans with 22 assists.

Also in the Suburban Council, Shenendehowa improved to 4-0 in the SC and 5-2 overall with a three-set sweep of Schenectady 25-9, 25-7, 25-15. Kasia Barletta had 15 service points, six aces and 17 digs for Shen, and Emma Paliwodzinski had eight service points and 21 assists.

Mayfield swept Amsterdam in three sets in a non-league match, 25-15, 25-13, 25-23.

Julie Fitzgerald had four aces, two kills, 11 assists and two digs for Mayfield, Madison King had two aces, four kills and two aces and Camie Hart had 11 digs.

Anish Sturdivant led Amsterdam with 10 service points, Payton Hoefs had three service points and three kills and Annie Fedullo added two service points, two kills and one block.

Mayfield improved to 4-2 overall.

Joe Radovic had a goal and two assists, and Ryan Farr had a goal and one assist as Saratoga Springs dominated Troy 6-1 to improve to 3-1-0 in the Suburban Council boys’ soccer.

Colin Brant scored two goals as Shaker topped Niskayuna 2-1.

Andrew Stiles scored for the Silver Warriors.

Sam Rogers scored three goals, and Nick Bianco had two as Broadalbin-Perth rolled past Scotia-Glenville 5-1 in the Foothills Council.

Luke Barnhart, Kody Rogers, Ian Schwartz and Antonio Daniello were all credited with assists for the Patriots.

Xavier DeLuca scored for Scotia.
